Block Party to be Held in Harvest for Tornado Victims

MADISON COUNTY, AL ? It?s been nearly six months since the devastating April 27th tornadoes tore through Alabama.?

?

On Friday, a group of women went before the Madison County Commission to remind officials that many storm victims in the TennesseeValley still need help. ?They?re called Volunteers for Giving Hope.? The group is raising funds and raising awareness by having a block party in November. Organizers say the tornado relief effort is much needed since so many are still suffering from losses.

?

Dani Peele with Volunteers for Giving Hope says, ?The destruction of the April 27th tornadoes is still in our backyards, and our neighbors are still dealing with destruction, living in poor conditions because they can't get their homes fixed.? This block party will allow people to come together and learn information about what is still going on out there for their neighbors.?

?

The tornado relief effort will be held at SparkmanHigh School on Friday, November 4th in Harvest from 4pm-7pm. ?For more information, visit ?www.herestovolunteers.com.
